Hummerstons

This cosy restaurant is tucked away, hidden from the hustle and bustle of Robertson Quay's/Walk's night crowd. I mean it by "tucked away". We had to climb up a forsaken stairwell and dodge past Cerberus before reaching the restaurant.(okay I'm exaggerating on the last part, but the restaurant being hidden is no joke)

Not sure whether it was because of the heavy rain that deterred people from going out, but it was rather quiet for dinner time. However, in its defence, the area around Robertson Quay is saturated with lots of fanciful restaurants.

This place is opened by an ex-Executive Chef of PS Cafe. The place is really nice, but I find that the food has lots of room for improvement to live up to that reputation.

Nice table decor.
The menu had quite a limited choice of dishes, which is good, if those few dishes are so good, they are to die for.

Very simple menu.
They have really interesting combinations of drinks. They were good though!

R-L: Kiwi Pear Apple Juice, Fresh Grapefruit Juice, Soursop Pomegranate Blendie

Super Salad Bowl. Quite expensive. I liked the nuts.

Smoked Duck and Mushroom Risotto
The Pavoratti was the best dish.

Favourite Dish of the night: Prawn Pavoratti
Quite disappointed that the fries were not hot and crispy and lacked the truffle flavour compared to PS Cafe's, however the sauces redeemed the dish.

A Box of Hummerstons Fries (Yes, that is the name)

Sometimes it's the company you have that's important on a night out. Helps balance the food.
